Flexible Audio Transcription Options
The robust data delivery methods of INI AudioForms accommodate a number of data processing models. Responses and approved transcriptions are stored as fixed field CSV files compatible with standard database and spreadsheet software for storage, analysis, and reporting. Recordings may be transcribed and manually approved prior to delivery. Transcription is generally carried out utilizing three primary methods. INI AudioForms offers flexible support for each.
Web-Based Transcription
The web-based administration interface for INI AudioForms includes a graphical transcription tool. Features include audio controls to play, pause, and skip through recordings, and a progress bar that can be manipulated to select playback positions at will.

Transcription text is entered into a field beside the recorded content. Multiple transcribers may work on different result records for the same form at the same time, allowing for faster overall processing of data.
Transcription Service
Some organizations choose to contract with a service that provides human transcription to free up their staff to focus on core business. The audio and CSV files from INI AudioForms may be downloaded and sent out for transcription. INI can also develop an automated solution for passing form records to a transcription service and posting their completed records directly into a corporate database.
Speech-To-Text
While the technology still has a long way to go, INI AudioForms may be configured for automated transcription of recorded responses utilizing the latest advances in Speech-To-Text (STT) technology. As this technology evolves, this feature will become more and more advantageous, reducing the effort and resources required for manual transcription.
INI has a recognized talent for dialog design and works directly with clients to construct form solutions that ensure a higher level of accuracy, minimizing manual transcription requirements. In addition to the STT technology, our professional services team may offer assistance with form design to facilitate better responses from respondents, preload grammar to establish parameters that capture anticipated responses with greater accuracy, and provide speech tuning to accommodate dialects and idiosyncrasies specific to an organization’s audience. While no STT solution is 100% accurate, STT provides a great head start on transcription that saves considerable effort, resulting in a more efficient transcription process.
Completed form records are stored as CSV files. Regardless of the transcription method, approved form records can be manually downloaded from the administration interface or scheduled for automatic delivery by email or file transfer. With INI’s DataLink™ add-on, completed form records can be transferred directly to a corporate database for maximum automation.
